Native mobile apps are in internal beta

Trivialism has always been playable in a mobile browser, but a browser tab is not the same as an app you can pull up in two seconds on the couch. Native apps for iOS and Android are now in internal beta testing.

Where they are at

Today the builds live with our own team and a small circle of testers. We are running them through real games every day to find the gaps between "works in the simulator" and "works on a five-year-old phone with bad reception."

  • Core gameplay — joining, answering, scoring, results — is fully wired to the live engine.
  • Account sign-in and profile sync work against the same backend as the web app.
  • Push notifications for game invites and daily quizzes are being tested.

What has to be true before a public launch

We would rather ship a little later than ship something that feels like a wrapped website. The bar for opening the beta wider:

  • Offline grace. A dropped connection mid-round should not lose your progress.
  • Native feel. Gestures, haptics, and transitions that match platform expectations rather than fighting them.
  • Store readiness. App Store and Play Store review, privacy disclosures, and the EULA all squared away.

Want in early?

We will open a public beta once the internal round settles. If you would like to be on the early list, join the Discord or subscribe to the newsletter in the footer — that is where the TestFlight and Play Store invites will go out first.
