For a lot of our players, the trivia happens where the friends already are: a Discord server. So rather than asking people to leave their community and come to the website, we brought the game to them.

The Discord bot: play trivia where your community already hangs out
What works today
The bot is live in beta. Add it to a server and you can:
- Start a multiplayer round from any text channel with a slash command.
- Pull questions from the same engine that powers the web game — identical categories, difficulty curve, and fact-checking.
- Track scores across a round and post a live leaderboard as answers come in.
- Link your Discord account to your Trivialism profile with a six-character code, so stats and achievements carry over.
It shares the C++ game core with the website, which means a fix to scoring or a new game mode lands in both places at once — there is no second implementation to keep in sync.
What we are working on next
The honest status: it is solid for casual play, but a couple of things are still in flux.
- Retiring "Server Quizzes." An early version let servers maintain their own quiz menu, but it confused more than it helped — people expected it to be the same library they saw on the web. We are removing that entry point and folding everything into the unified quiz catalog. Expect the "Server Quizzes" menu item to disappear shortly.
- Smoother voice-channel rounds. Timing and presence detection in voice channels need polish before we call it stable.
- Per-server settings. Round length, category filters, and who is allowed to start a game — configurable per server.
Try it
The bot is open to anyone who wants to kick the tires. Hop into our Discord to add it and tell us what breaks — beta feedback is shaping the roadmap directly.
